Six and a half years, forty-plus events spread across Sydney's suburbs.
Welcome to TRØUGH X, Sydney's newest space dedicated to underground electronic music and late-night culture. Located in the heart of Surry Hills, it started in 1975 as Ruby Reds, the first dedicated space to Sydney's lesbian community. From there it went through many names, such as Headquarters and The Trade.Club.
As of 2026, the building is in the process of being formally protected — recognising the building but also its social history as one of the few remaining physical links to the early days of lesbian activism in Sydney and the development of sex-positive queer spaces that helped define the Surry Hills and Oxford Street precincts.
Allure would like to thank TRØUGH X and the community for welcoming us into their space, and we hope to help keep that underground music, sex-positive late-night culture alive.
Allure isn't one party — it's three different nights, and they never run at the same time. They aren't all moving in at once either. Underground opens the residency, Allure follows once we know the room, and Black grows out of what members ask us to build.
"The people have spoken — Underground is the regular that keeps the music-focused, underground house party feel front and centre."
Where Allure is about the theme, Underground is about the sound and the space. DJs across multiple rooms, play areas off the floor, and a dress code somewhere between Berlin and the Kit Kat Club — black, twisted, leather, latex, or your sexiest lingerie with some colour in it.
"An exciting party where anything is possible. Enjoy Sydney's sexiest crowd, where you can explore until your mind & body are content."
The one with a concept. Dirty Disney, Dirty Disco, Wild Wild West, The Burn, Mythology, Dark Desires. Costumed, dressed-up and mingle-led — designed for couples and singles to connect in a room that feels curated rather than clubby.
"Where we build the whole world, not just the theme."
The top of the programme — fewer tickets, more production, and a concept built out properly rather than dressed on. Every Black night is its own fantasy and carries its own name: Black tells you the standard, the name tells you the world you're walking into. And the worlds come from the floor — members put forward the fantasy they want built.
These never run at the same time. Every date is one of the three — and we are starting with Underground, adding the others as the room tells us what it wants to be.
Five levels, top to bottom. Isolate a floor, filter the zones, or drop into plan view — so you know where you're going before you get there.
273 Crown Street, Surry Hills. Ten minutes' walk from Central, five from Museum. Buses down Crown and Foveaux; rideshare drops on Crown Street.
The building runs through to Lower Campbell Street at the rear — that side is exit only.
Nothing changes. Allure is still vetted-only and pre-ticketed — there is no walk-up, no door sale, and no gendered pricing. One ticket type, one price, released in stages.
Bring photo ID matching your booking. 18+, no exceptions.
Consent and harm reduction are house rules here, not an add-on — the venue leads with them and so do we.
Water, showers and a quiet recovery space are available all night. Crew are visible and identifiable.
Allure has always been BYO. TRØUGH X operates its own licensed bar, so from our first night here drinks are bought on site rather than brought in. Ticket pricing has been adjusted to reflect that — full detail on each event listing.
